James Giordano, Pellegrino Center professor of Neurology and Biochemistry at Georgetown University, and cyber ethics director of the CyberSMART Center, has been elected as a Fellow of the Hastings Center for Ethics, in recognition of his four decades of work in international ethics research, scholarship and policy guidance.
Giordano’s work focuses upon the use of emerging neuro- and cyber-sciences and technologies in medicine, public life, and global biosecurity, and the ethical issues, problems and solutions generated by these developments.
According to the press release from the Hastings Center for Ethics, "The Hastings Center Fellows are a group of about 300 individuals of outstanding accomplishment whose work has informed scholarship and public understanding of complex ethical issues in health, health care, science, and technology."
